Devil’s Den opened in April of 2008 and was really one of the first places to bring the best of craft and imported beers into a normally closed minded South Philly neighborhood. On cold days and nights, a cozy fireplace fills the room with a pleasant aroma and toastiness. It is a very homey setting.
Devil’s Den has 17 rotating beers on tap and over 200 bottles of beer from breweries ranging from Pennsylvania to Belgium.
Delicious comfort food also fills the menu. Some of my favorites include the crab tots with a cheddar beer sauce, duck fries and the traditional mussels white with a delectable dipping broth of lemon, white wine, garlic and shallots.
Brunch is also a fantastic option at the Devil’s Den. Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas are offered for $3, which is a real treat compared to the normal $7-$10 at most brunch spots.
2GR recommends the next time you visit South Philly, make it a point to stop at Devil’s Den for some truly unique brews and some tasty grub.
